Lorena Mata studied architecture at the UNAM’s Faculty of Architecture. She has taught visual arts since 1994 and did postgraduate studies at the UNAM’s Plastic Arts National School. She has taken numerous updating courses on painting, photography and didactics with distinguished masters such as Kati Horna, Gilberto Aceves Navarro, Roger von Gunten and Germán Venegas. She has participated in several painting, photography, and digital image exhibits. She was given the Gabino Barreda’s Medal in 1986. In 1994 she got one of the Young Art National Encounter’s prizes. At present, in addition to the artistic activity, she develops work on digital image. She has taught at the UNAM’s Facutly of Architecture since 1990.
